A beautiful place to visit, with so much to do! San Juan, Puerto Rico did not disappoint us on our December 2017 cruise. From the moment we got off the ship, we could feel the excitement and festive energy flowing throughout the island.
We decided to take a local bus tour of Puerto Rico, as there were many to choose from. On the tour, we were able to see some of the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. We were also able to see how the island has been rebuilding. It was a pleasure to see the people who call San Juan home were so positive and welcoming. We also had a couple stops along the beach.
We then decided to get off and do some sight-seeing and shopping. There were many shops to visit, and all had really good prices for their merchandise. Each vendor was pleasant, and didn't get pushy at all.
There was music playing everywhere we went, adding to the festive vibe we felt while at the port. Compared to most of the ports we had ever visited, San Juan seemed to be one of the easiest to find our way around.
We would definitely recommend anyone to visit San Juan. It's one of the few ports that we've visited where we would actually look into booking a vacation there.
Our favorite part of our stop in San Juan: The look and feel. Wish we stayed there much longer.
